Free Yoga & Tai-Chi Sessions Return to Wray Cres for Third Year!
The return of wellness sessions in Wray Crescent park.
We are proud to announce the return of our free summer seasons of yoga and tai-chi in Wray Crescent park, now in their third year!
Yoga and Tai-Chi for the rest of us
Our free evening yoga and tai-chi sessions are a fantastic way to ease your mind and boost your health at the end of a busy week. We plan to run the sessions for ten weeks, weather permitting.
- The yoga sessions begin on Thursday July 11 at 6:30pm.
- Tai-chi sessions start on Friday July 12, also at 6:30pm.
You can join the sessions at any point during the season, just turn up when you can.
Beginners are very welcome – you really don’t need to have done this before. Just wear comfortable clothes, and if you want to do yoga please bring your own mat.
Now free, but be generous
We’ve changed things a little this year and we won’t be requesting donations during the sessions. This feels far closer to what we have always wanted, which is to ensure these sessions are open and available to everybody, so everyone can join in.
What we do request is that people who attend the sessions who can afford to donate towards the costs of running them please make a donation through our GoFundMe page.
Don’t forget that drop in sessions like these frequently costs £15 a session! Which is why we wanted to make them available to all. (Please just add yoga/tai-chi in the comment when you donate, so we get an idea of what the donation is for).
What you should expect
- At 6:30pm on Thursday evenings this summer we’ll gather for yoga sessions with the amazing Alexa.
- And at 6:30pm on Friday evenings this summer we’d love to invite you to tai-chi sessions with our wonderful teacher, Steph.
- Both teachers are fully accredited.
- No experience is required, but for yoga you must bring your own mat and loose clothing is recommended for both practises.
- The sessions last an hour.
How the sessions are funded
We are once again grateful to Islington’s Make It Happen Fund for providing some of the funding to start the sessions off this year. We’d also like to thank Islington’s parks department for their assistance in getting this off the ground.
Also please mark July 27 in your diary as that is when the second Wray Crescent Festival is set to take place. Expect more food, more music, more stalls and – most of all — more fun at this year’s family friendly event. We will share more news on this soon.
We do hope you can join us for the yoga and tai-chi sessions in the park, and we do hope to see you at the festival. Please get involved!
