October 19: Help rebuild the path
The seasons have changed once again, which means the rains are coming to Wray Crescent, which means a big chunk of park turns into a muddy swamp. That means it is time to rebuild the temporary path through the park.
We need your help to do it!
October 19: Help rebuild the path
So many people use the path every day. Cyclists, joggers, shoppers, walkers – it’s a really popular addition to the park that turns that whole section of park into a usable space rather than a forgotten and ignored muddy quagmire.
But putting new wood chip down to make the path each year takes hours and hours of time. Last year we got great help from a team of Moorhouse Consulting volunteers.
Even though it was raining heavily, with their help we got the main path done – and while doing so we were able to estimate that it takes about 20-25 person-hours to do the whole thing.
If you use the path, or want to make sure others can use the path, we need your help.
Please get involved
We have the first batch of wood chip to put a new path in place, and the plan is that on Saturday October 19 at noon we will get together and put a new path down.
We’d be so happy if you can turn up and join us, because when it comes to doing this task many hands quite literally make light work.
We hope to see you at noon on October 19. Wear mud-friendly shoes, bring gloves if you have them, and wrap up dry.
