Help plant an orchard (and learn how it’s done)
Join the Friends of Wray Crescent and the Orchard Project on February 8 to plant five beautiful fruit trees around the park. Hot food will be provided during the day, and the event should be fun for gardeners, tree-lovers, and nature-minded kids.
We promise you will learn a lot about fruit trees and their care from the fantastic Orchard Project experts.
What’s happening?
Last year, the group teamed up with Islington parks and the Orchard Project to improve the orchard area in our park.
We’ve held a series of fascinating learning workshops since then, which culminate in a big tree planting event on Saturday February 8, when we will be putting five beautiful fruit trees in place in the park.
The session begins at midday, everyone is welcome, and hot food will be provided during the day.
The event takes place in Wray Crescent Park, N4. More details.

What we learned so far
During the sessions we have learned a huge amount about how to better care for fruit trees. For example, in September we learned how mulching the tree pits helps trees thrive over winter and stay hydrated (and be even more fruitful!) once summer’s heat returns.
We have made a collection of useful guides into what we have learned so far available in PDF format, which you can download here.

We hope to see you at 11am on February 8.
