We won an Islington in Bloom Award!
We have won an Islington In Bloom Award!
This week we learned that our beloved Yvonne Connelly Kitchen Garden in Wray Crescent has won the Silver Award in the Best Community Garden category.
We’re so thrilled. It is a testament to hundreds of hours of voluntary work in creating, managing and caring for the project that has been done by so many people.
Well done, everyone!
What we are trying to do
The Friends of Wray Crescent is a voluntary group.
We aim to improve amenities, boost use and forge strong bonds across the local community. We work with the community and local stakeholders to develop our vision of what the park can be.
Our flagship project is the Yvonne Connolly Kitchen Garden.
This is a community project developed and managed by the Friends of Wray Crescent Open Space and partnership organizations, including Streets Kitchen.
This was funded by ourselves, with grants from the Mayor’s Green Cities Fund and Islington Council.
We have so many more plans to make the park a better space for all park users, including local people, parents, children, dog walkers and everyone else who wants to share this precious space.
You can help us in this mission.
We’re appealing for help on Saturday October 26 as we plant and lay a new path.
