Hello everyone,

We just wanted to announce some more information on what to expect at the next Big Buzz festival for World Bee Day which takes place this year on May 23, from 12-4.

We are thrilled to announce the two main entertainers for the day, who are:

Nutty Magic Jaigo

Equipped with his suitcase of conjuring curiosities, Nutty Magic Jaigo from Nutty’s Children’s Parties promises to daze and amaze with his stunning magic tricks. Expect slapstick, audience participation, a lot of laughs and some truly spectacular illusions. Jaigo hits the stage gazebo at 3pm. Don’t miss it!!

Circus workshops

Arrive at the festival promptly at noon and you’ll soon get to meet our amazing stilt walker and circus performer, who will lead two hours of circus workshops for the kids. Children can try a range of skills, including plate spinning, poi, hula hoops, Diablo and juggling.

Face Painting

Yes, the face painters are back. Always popular at the Big Buzz you can add to the occasion by coming to the event in fancy dress!

Free Plants

Islington’s parks team will be back with the ever-popular Pot a Plant to take home with you stall. Turn up, pot a beautiful plant, and take it home with you to grow.

Stalls

Expect delicious vegan food from Pickle Pickle, and browse our exciting collection of local stalls, offering honey, aromatherapy, toys, art and all manner of lovely things – also including the coffee bike!

Look out for the coffee bike!

Kids v parents tug of war

At some point during the day expect the Lord of the Flies like chaos of the kids versus parents Tug of War – if we manage to remember to do it this year!

Help make it happen

We are adding new attractions to the event all the time.

All of this is for free, though we do need plenty of help putting the event together this year, and also on the day, so please drop us a line or speak with us in the park if you can perform, help organise, want to run a stall, or just want to help on the day. If you can’t do those things then please donate to help pay for the event – thank you.

We’re also seeking assistance putting this year’s summer festival together, so please get in touch to help with that, too.
