Thanks for coming along to the bee festival

Hi everyone, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved in the Big Buzz event. We hope you had a nice time, and if you have ideas for what you could do to make the show even better next year, please let us know what you’d like to do and we can begin planning next year’s event.

Thank you to everyone who took part

We wanted to take a moment to thank all the amazing people who showed up to take part in the party, and all our wonderful stallholders and performers.

So that’s thank you to hilarious high-energy magician, Mr, Ravioli, thanks to the unique Billy Bubbles, and a big thank you to the absolute saints from SportsSchool who stepped in at the eleventh hour to provide brilliant sports and games for the kids.

It’s also a thanks to Esther Coles from Queen Bees podcast – we saw loads of people zipping around with self-made beeswax candles. We want to thank Eslam from Sustainable Nutrition Academy who showed us the ins and outs of composting.

Thanks to Pickle Pockle for bringing food to the park, our wonderful honey man, the teddy bear stall, the crazy tug of war, and of course, a huge thank you to Islington’s parks team for showing up to give plants away.

None of this would have happened without the hard work of all the volunteers who helped out before the show and on the day, everyone worked together to help create a lovely day out for the kids in the local park.

Finally, of course, a special thanks to everyone who managed to show up, despite the slightly overcast weather and Arsenal’s (winning) women’s match.

Wray Crescent Festival takes place July 26

We have more to come! We can announce that we have now begun putting together the larger Wray Crescent festival which takes place across the park on July 26. We expect to bring you more music, more entertainment, more stalls, sideshows and walkabout entertainers at the big event.

You can help make it happen. If you can contribute volunteer time, entertainment, stalls, or anything else you think might make that festival extra special, please do get in touch.

Signing off, all our events are run by volunteers for the local community. Every penny we raise goes on our work in Wray Crescent, including the festivals, but we did not quite break even on the Big Buzz, so if you would rather donate than get involved in organising these events, we’d appreciate it as we put together what we need for the Wray Crescent Festival in July. You can make a donation here.
